Our Meetings
 
ACGS meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month (except July, November, and December) from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Augusta County Library located at 1759 Jefferson Highway (Route 250) in Fishersville, Virginia. In July we have a picnic/social and in November we have a holiday luncheon. There is no scheduled meeting in December.
 
The Annual Membership meeting (with election of board members) is held each October. Additional workshops include a two-day Beginner’s Genealogy Workshop (on two consecutive Saturday mornings) each Spring.

ACGS is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with tax-deductible donations.

Become A Member
Membership in ACGS is open to anyone with an interest in genealogy, whether a beginner or an experienced researcher. Annual memberships run from January to December. For more information on becoming a member, click HERE.

Our Mission
 
The Augusta County Genealogical Society (ACGS), located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, was established in 1996. Our mission is threefold:
  • Help preserve genealogical records and public access to them
  • Furnish aid and education in genealogical research methods
  • Foster and encourage interest in genealogical research
